I heard a healthy debate on the radio this evening while commuting home. It involved this case and the question was whether it should be lawful to witness a crime, particularly a violent one, and not report the incident to authorities. I definitely believe we have a moral obligation to humanity; call me naive, but I hope most people would feel the same way. With that said, I do believe it should be a crime to stand by and watch on as a young woman is raped and brutally beaten.

Well Said.
My brother recently e-mailed the family this article and I couldn't think of a more appropriate way to explain our undying devotion and loyalty to our beloved (1-5) Browns.

Happy Birthday, Maebs!
Today is your first birthday, Maebe!
Andy and I have really enjoyed most moments with you this year but don't you think you take the squeaky toys just a bit too far?
Realizing you will never officially read this, you play an important part in our lives and we are grateful for the joy you bring us every day. Looking back at the pictures from your first day with us, it's no wonder you still get a little spring in your step after finding a lonely stick lying on the sidewalk. The "I love sticks" attribute was there from day one.
Sto lat, Maebe!

Salted Fudge Brownies.
My parents and brother visited us this weekend. We had a great time catching up and even fit in a rousing game of Monopoly. Between us, I won! My family is still in denial...
I made a sweet treat on Saturday, Food and Wine's Salted Fudge Brownies and they were D-lish (with a capitol D). The salty taste blended beautifully with the chocolaty greatness of the brownie.
Move over Betty Crocker, this girl's got a new brownie in her recipe box.

Average American? No More.
In case you haven't heard, the country is changing - rapidly!
Click here to see a preview of the 2010 United States census. Now I don't know about you, dear readers, but this is fascinating stuff to a girl who works for a large consumer packaged goods company.
It will be interesting to see how our county adapts to its changing demographic. How will it change the landscape in the marketplace, in politics and in our communities?
I, for one, am excited to see the results and what comes of them.
Let the countdown to 2011, when the results are actually released, begin!

Babs and Me.

- Barbra Streisand tells Parade magazine.
I know she's a legend but I couldn't name one Barbara Streisand song if I tried. Even if a million dollars were on the table for my taking - not one, single, solitary song. I do, however, approve of her at-home fashion sense!

Dear Husband,

Two year ago, today, we vowed to dance through life together, hand-in-hand, and I am so incredibly honored and grateful to be your wife. And breaking with sentimentality here, I'd like to end with a "HA!"
I love you, Boots!
